HRNSW COVID-19 REGIONAL PROTOCOLS

NSWBC Series requires conditions implemented to coincide with current COVID-19 Pandemic. These conditions will provide the opportunity for eligible horses to compete.

Changes to NSW Breeders Challenge Border

  • Licensed participants who are located within the southern area of the Metropolitan Region who are not currently subject to any NSW Government lockdown orders will be classified within the Riverina Region.

Interstate / ACT Trained Horses

There are two (2) options available for interstate Trainers or those located within the ACT as follows:

  • The first option is for horses to be transported by a legitimate horse transport company approved by HRNSW to a Trainer’s Representative (Licensed Trainer) in NSW. Horses transported in this manner are required to be at the registered training establishment of the Trainer’s Representative in NSW prior to 8am on race day. A Trainer’s Representative form is required to be completed and approved by HRNSW Stewards prior to the transport of any horse being undertaken in this manner. • The second option is for a stable return to be completed and the horse transferred into the care of a NSW Licensed Trainer who will remain as the trainer for the 2021 NSW Breeders Challenge series. Any horse transferred in this manner is then required to be transported by a legitimate horse transport company approved by HRNSW to a NSW based Trainer prior to the close of nominations for the NSW Breeders Challenge race.

Heats, Semi Finals & Finals

  • Horses contesting Heats conducted during regionalisation will only be eligible to compete in the heats within the Region in which they are trained.
  • An exemption for Semi Finals and Finals to be conducted at Tabcorp Park Menangle will be applied by HRNSW and any horse that qualifies will be free to compete in accordance with protocols adopted by the HRNSW COVID-19 Management Group.

True Blue Series

  • Eligible horses based in NSW or trained by an interstate trainer (that meet the above conditions) will be able to compete at Tabcorp Park Menangle in accordance with protocols adopted by the HRNSW COVID-19 Management Group.

Regional Series

  • Horses contesting Heats conducted during regionalisation will only be eligible to compete in the heats within the Region in which they are trained.
  • Horses qualifying for the Final will be able to travel and compete in their respective Final.

COVID-19 Protocols are subject to change in line with Government policy

Conditions are subject to change at the discretion of HRNSW Management at any time.
